Task
Bring key Los Angeles tastemakers to the opening of the “Life is Beautiful” art show
Application
The art show took place at the former CBS studios on Sunset Blvd. The 8,000-square-foot gallery was home to Mr. BrainWash’s first solo show, and it was filled with interesting installations and huge works of art.
RRE was hired to handle all media outreach and promotions because of our access to prominent tastemakers in L.A. Most notably, we landed the front cover of the L.A. Weekly. Our PR outreach included numerous blogs and websites, including Nylon, WireImage, Buzznet, Flavorpill, Hypebeast, Paper, URB, Vapors and Yelp. The event also received a plug by Brent Bolthouse on L.A.’s Indie 103.1 radio station.
RRE produced the VIP opening-night reception, as well as the public opening the following night. RRE managed and staffed the bar and worked with sponsors to obtain liquor for guests to enjoy throughout the night.
Results
Three hours before the opening there was a line around the block. More then 4,000 people attended the sold-out opening-night show, and thousands more throughout the following weeks. Over 150 blogs and websites featured the artwork and opening-night photos, creating lasting buzz that gained the attention of the local and national art scenes.
